The LV40 Portable is a lightweight, yet immensely powerful Universal programmer for all applications; ideal for development, field service or small to medium scale production. The programmer is completely portable, having a built in LCD and keypad. It can be operated from either batteries or the supplied mains adapter. Software is provided for PC operation, with connection to any standard parallel port. In addition, an RS232 connector enables data to be downloaded via the serial port, including any new device libraries to update the internal memory, eliminating the need for costly firmware upgrades. The LV40 Portable supports EPROMs, EEPROMs, Serial Proms, Flash, NOVRAMs, BPROMs, PALs, GALs, CPLDs and over 200 microcontrollers. Intel's full range of Flash memory devices is supported, as well as MCS(R)48, MCS(R)51 and MCS(R)196 microcontrollers. No additional modules or adapters are required for any device in DIP packaging upto 40-pins; however, adapters are available for devices upto 84-pins PLCC and 56-pins TSOP. Low Voltage parts are correctly supported as standard in accordance with the manufacturers specifications, and the programmer can programme and verify parts down to 1.8V. A built in ChipTester for 74/4000 series logic, as well as DRAM and SRAM devices, is also included as standard.
